The Cedars

A truly amazing weekend. The location of the cottage is lovely for a romantic getaway. Set in such a stunning location, the views out your door are hard to capture in photos but are breathtaking. We loved the Eco nature of the cottage, which added to the secluded location and feel. There was so much wildlife around, which was so special, different wallabies, wombats and birds. Seeing them at dusk made the weekend truely memorable. The were also lots of little touches, like milk, fresh eggs, chocolates etc, which made us feel very welcome. Definitely a place to stay.

Beautiful cabin on a beautiful property! This was such a relaxing place to stay. Very secluded, on a lovely property. You can choose to relax and stay inside or adventure outdoors. The cabin gets very warm and cosy with the potbelly fire on which is perfect for winter time too. Highly highly recommend!

Such a lovely place to stay. All the little touches were lovely and the pictures don’t do the view justice. We stayed over winter and found the fire toasty warm…would definitely recommend!

Our stay at the Yurt was a wonderful and totally relaxing experience. We particularly liked the quite of the bush and enjoyed feeding the animals in the morning. Communication was great and very helpful. We would certainly recommend others to stay here. Thank you.

Surrounded by amazing scenery and active wildlife Cedars Cottage is Kangaroo Valley’s hidden gem. Whether you are an animal lover or want a quiet weekend getaway I would highly recommend Cedars Cottage!

Secluded, cosy, awesome location … the valley mist in the morning was stunning and ever-changing … the cliffs in the evening were bathed in light … absolutely sensational.

Second time we have stayed here and we enjoyed it even more! So private and peaceful. My partner and I love the Yurt with fresh eggs and bread and the outdoor fire we cooked our dinner on. Feeling very refreshed. Thanks again!

BeaYURTiful! We had the most lovely stay at The Yurt. The accommodation was everything we were hoping for, with fantastic attention to detail (like fresh eggs for breakfast and maps of the walking trails around the property) making it even better. Waking up to such a stunning view isn’t bad either. Thanks for such a lovely visit. We even managed to get engaged while we were there so a repeat trip is a must!

Chris, March 2017

We had an absolutely wonderful time. The location was beautiful, the yurt was great, and we really loved seeing all the native animals from our front door including wombats, echidnas, kookaburras, wallabies and a lyrebird. We hope to return again in the future!

We would like to thank you for the warmest hospitality we have ever experienced. Quite frankly, we were blown away by the scenic views and the cabin arrangements. It made us feel very much like at home. this was our first time but it will definitely not be our last. You have done a fabulous job with the cabins. We now want to own one ourselves. Until next time, all the best and thank you again for everything.

David and Hayley – October 2016

I just wanted to say thank you for such a happy weekend. We loved the whole experience. Terry was wonderful and really added to our fantastic weekend, he was funny, kind and generous with his time and patience with my children. We will be back.

Jenny – August 2016

This is a stunning place. The Yurt faces one of Australia’s loveliest valleys. The high escarpment to the east is brilliant to watch the passing sun rays through the afternoon, while tending to the fire pit. We loved making sustained and impressive echos by shouting koo-ee.

Liam – July 2016

Thank you so much for such a fabulous weekend away! We stayed at Misty Glen over the weekend 29/7-31/7 and had an incredible time. It was so relaxing to have everything that we needed at our hands. Also a special mention to Terry for showing us all of the animals and making the most out of the morning feeds…we hope to be back soon.

My son, who is 5, and I stayed at Sunnybank on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of last week. I just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful time and he thoroughly enjoyed the animal feeding with Pia on Thursday and with Terry and Greg on Friday. I think the highlight was the tractor ride on Friday morning with Terry! We also did a number of bushwalks (which had him asleep in bed by 6pm each night!) and we saw at least 5 stags and numrous wallabies.

I was grateful for the lovely fresh eggs, sour dough bread and milk and particularly the bottle of wine which helped me wind down at the end of our busy but relaxing days.

Lisa – April 2016

Absolutely breathtaking! Dianne was amazingly helpful during our stay and the place was unbelievable. Pictures don’t do Sunnybank justice. The whole experience was second to none and I highly recommend staying here for a peaceful relaxing getaway. Fresh eggs and sourdough in the morning was such a delight. Greg took us to see the glow worms and was so accommodating throughout our trip. Thank you for a great weekend.

David – February 2016

Wow! If you are looking to not see or hear another human or building in site and see beautiful escarpment and listen to birds and wake up the mist in the valley with your hot homemade bread and make yourself scrambled eggs (provided for you) ….then this is the perfect getaway !! We went for a walk down to the creek passing and saying hi to the horses and cows along the way. Walked for three hours not seeing a sole. Place was clean and bed very comfy- everything we needed. Absolutely would recommend this… Loved it

Keryn – January 2016

Exceptional! In every way! The location is stunning, the cottage a delight, and the little touches (wine, bread, farm fresh eggs) so welcoming and thoughtful. The host, Dianne, was simply wonderful – responsive, helpful and accommodating (indeed when I mixed up the booking details, Dianne went out of her way to help). Highest recommendation. We will definitely be coming back.

Brook – October 2015

I just wanted to thank you for a really great weekend. It went off so well, we all had such an amazing time and I feel like I gave the family such a gift. I personally love it there and now all the family do also.

Myf – October 2015

I think the listing undersold this place, it is truly a sanctuary! Every appliance worked perfectly, we didn’t have trouble with anything. The listing is extremely accurate and the small details, fresh sourdough bread, homemade marmalade, fresh eggs are warming touches by the host. Also, what to do in the Kangaroo Valley and contact numbers is very helpful.

Alana – July 2015

Situated in the most achingly beautiful countryside you could ever imagine. It is picture perfect and serene. If you want to get away from everything & cosy up in front of the fire with a good book (a selection of books is provided) & a glass of wine (also provided) this is the place for you.

Lisa – April 2015

This is a very nice place located between pastures and forest with a wonderful view on the valley. In only one night there, we saw wallabies, kangaroos, wombats, heaps of colourful birds and two beautiful horses. The inside is well furnished and very comfy. We had a really good time there. Highly recommended.

Mathieu – November 2014

We really enjoyed our stay at the Dairy. This is a wonderful place, in the middle of the Kangaroo Valley, beautiful views on waterfalls, bush, and countryside ! Also, we loved walk around the cottage to spot wildlife and animals at the farm. We highly recommend this place and we’ll love to come back. Perfect for families!
